Llano County was organized in 1856 along the banks of the Llano River at the location where the City of Llano, our county seat, stands today. Within our county are two rivers and numerous creeks offering beautiful flowing water and tranquil lakes for recreation. Located in the northern Texas Hill Country, Llano County is a unique combination of lowland valleys and rugged sandstone and granite formations such as the famous "Enchanted Rock".
